About Us

This BLOG has been created with the intent of learning about each other within the Richard Telford and Leann Rigby Denning family.  We believe that stories about ourselves and each other within this family can help us get to know and understand who we are.

Just a brief history about Dick and Leann Denning.   They met on a blind date around Christmas time in 1954.  Dick then left for his LDS Mission a few weeks later to the South Western States Mission.   Leann Rigby then wrote to Dick the whole time he was out on is mission, along with finishing up high school and enjoying a few dates along the way.  At one point during Dick’s mission, his father, George Denning drove Dick’s car to him so Dick could have transportation while out on his mission.  On this trip, George also brought Dick’s sister, Leann, along for the visit (at least that is what they told the mission president).  Dick finished his mission around Christmas of 1956 and they, Dick and Leann, were married on February 15, 1957.

Then on March 25, 1958, Richard Rigby Denning, the first son, was born.  Then on June 21, 1959, Douglas Rigby Denning, the second son was born.   On March 28, 1961, Ann Denning, the first daughter was born.  Just as a side note, we celebrated Ann’s birthday on March 29 until she was in high school and she had produce a birth certificate to prove her age.  Oops, not the 29th, but the 28th.   On March 27, 1964, Deborah Denning, the second daughter and final child (spoiled) was born.

That rounded out the family at six people.   There was a lot of sports, dancing, vacations and other interesting activities that happened over the years.   So in the spirit of saving these stories, this BLOG has been created.  Any and all remembrances should be added.  Nonfiction and Fiction are welcome, but if there is more hearsay than truth to the story, please preface the story with “We heard the story told (but who knows what actually happened) …..”.

Let’s be nice and yet have fun with this BLOG.

Thank you all.

Richard R. Denning
